There was only one time before when this look was worn by Tsubine—when his face was gnarled by anger and bewrinkled by sheer ire. This is a face which bore no survivors from its last (and once-only) release from nearly ten centuries ago. This is the face of a man full of love. The difference was the kind of love. The first was a love of a brother and his only sister. This new love was deeper and full of a new seething power which no man (but only one woman) could stop.

This was the love of a man in love.

The Fourth Division's many tiled roofs rattled and windows began to bow towards the inside as the crimson eyes flared like a sun. His knuckles white and his teeth grinding to a point of being a calcified wall, the former Captain-Commander was ready for a war. Nearby Shinigami could barely breathe from the immense pressure from someone of his Reiatsu level, but he was tunnel-vision incarnate at this point.

Tsubine was heading for one person at this point. He had seen the woman he fell for in a bad state, and now it was time to pay a visit to the man he thought was his best friend. Genpaku should have told him of this. But he didn't. No one did. He had come in, expecting to find Kaminari there... waiting on him. She had to give him an answer after talking to... Jota? Tsubine thought that was the name of the guy, but instead...

Shunpo after Shunpo after Shunpo, Tsubine was darting towards the massive complex known as the 1st Division. That gaudily-large office used by the Captain-Commander was his target, and he was going to get there. Genpaku was going to get a piece of his mind, whether it be verbal or physical. Thankfully, someone caught the direction of this massive Reiatsu spike.

Tsubine stopped as someone in a blue-trimmed Haori blocked his way with arms spread. The young man was somewhat familiar to Tsubine, but he couldn't concentrate enough to think on names. His glare was not directed to the young man, but behind him. The man stood there, his body doing its best not to collapse. "Out of my damn way." Tsubine spoke first, giving an order to a man he had no control over.

Kazuo Saionji, the man who had either bravely or stupidly tried to stop the former Captain-Commander, shook his head. He was practically panicking about this. If it weren't for the fact that he was near the 1st Division at that time, there is no one who could have stopped Tsubine from getting there. He was the first and last wall of defense.

"I said to get out," the glare finally shot towards Kazuo, whose spine tensed up at the glowing crimson, "of my way." Tsubine was not going to let this man stop him, but Kazuo was not going to willingly move. "I'm sorry, former-Captain-Commander... I can not let you go any further." Kazuo could feel the animosity—the hostility from Tsubine's Reiatsu. This would end badly for the Seireitei if he were allowed to continue on.

"Get. Out. Of. My. Way." Tsubine's hand moved to his sword... But Kazuo stepped forward, his eyes narrowing. "Former Captain-Commander... Why are you here and releasing your Reiatsu to such a dangerous level?" "To give Genpaku Arishima a piece of my damn mind." Tsubine's glare turned back to the 1st Division, then back to Kazuo. "So I suggest you get out of my way before I force you to."

Kazuo could feel the sweat beading down his neck. To stop this man, he would have to use every trick in his playbook... and even then, he feared it would not be enough. This man was strong enough to lead the Gotei. This man was far out of his class, and yet... he couldn't let this man pass. This was a trying time, and they needed all the allies they could get. "I am sorry, but no."

"Then, I will for—" "Will you just shut up and breathe already?!" Kazuo interrupted and yelled back to the man. His body was tense, but ready to strike. "Look at yourself! You don't know half the situation we're going through and you're willing to strike down a Captain just like that?! A friend of the woman we busted our asses off saving?! You would really do that to her?"

"I don't car—" "I know you don't care about what we do. It's not your job anymore. I imagine you're doing this because you're worried about your friends still around here..." Tsubine's glared eyes narrowed to focus on Kazuo. "No." His hand moved away from Nosada, which was a relief to Kazuo. "The woman I love is lying in a hospital bed—and I recieved no such word on her condition. She could have died and there would be no message sent to me. I would have to learn that just by passing through."

Kazuo blinked. Wait... lying... in... a hospital bed...? Currently, there were only three people he knew of in a bed because of recent happenings. The first was Kei Makabe, the lieutenant of the Fifth Division. She seemed odd and shy... and he never could remember seeing her and the former Captain-Commander together. The next was Midori Hayashi, the Captain of the Fourth Division. She was a viable choice, but she also didn't seem to be someone who could catch Tsubine's eye. Kazuo didn't know the man well, but she just seemed to have her eyes set on someone else from what he could notice...

And thus, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth. And who remained... "You mean Captain Hatakeyama...?" Kazuo asked a little awkwardly, trying to make sense of this. He had heard rumors of those two being seen together more, but... really? The man was a foot taller than she was! "Yes, I do mean Kaminari. Now, get out of m—" Kazuo blinked again before speaking up. "Forgive me, sir, but... you must not know of what else has happened..."

Tsubine began to walk towards Kazuo, half-ignoring the man. "I know my girlfriend is lying in a hospital bed and that's en—" "The Espada are back." Tsubine froze. "Impossible." "Sir, that is where the Captain-Commander was when this was going down. They attacked Tokyo, killing nearly twenty people. I don't know much else about that situation... but the Captain-Commander has been working with my Division's intelligence corps in gathering information on what happened with Captain Hatakeyama and the new Espada threat. It does not appear they are linked at this time..."

Tsubine's fist clenched tighter. "Your name." "S-sir?" Kazuo looked a little perplexed... "Tell me your name." "S-Saionji. Captain Kazuo Saionji of the Second Division." "Thank you, Captain Saionji." Tsubine could not look the man in the eye as he turned around. "You may have saved Genpaku Arishima's life today." And with that, Tsubine began to walk back towards the 4th Division... He wanted to be there when Kaminari woke up.

The nights had fallen togther for the young shinigami lying in a hospital bed. Even with the healing that Midori was able to apply, Kaminari's body was still weak and suffering from light side effects that the poison Lasciel put into her caused. The biggest one was apparently a disconnect from her own Reiryoku. This was something she didn't think was possible. It was barely healing. She could do minor Kidō and shunpo, having snuck out last night to figure that out only to be caught by the worried Shinigami members of Captain Hayashi's squad. It was frustrating being stuck in a bed.

Kaminari was the type of woman that always had to move. She had to keep busy. Laying down and letting her body relax was never at the top of her list. Now, she was being forced to lay in bed. There were quite a few times that she got up to stretch, only to be scolded. She went to go visit Midori to see if she had woken up, but was immediately escorted back to her bed. This was annoying. It wasn't like she was trying to escape. Everyone was just worried about any lingering effects that the poison might of had on her. It got to the point where they decided to sedate her to make her sleep.

Stupid. Idea. Someone had come to see her in her medicated state, so she never got the chance to speak to him. Instead, he was shown an injured and unconscious Kaminari. Not many had the courage to step up to Tsubine and tell him what was going on, not with that look on his face, so it wasn't surprising that he was allowed to walk off. The final moments of Kaminari's sleep, her mind was plagued with horrible images. From the deaths of her friends, the loss of her love, and the destruction of the Seireitei. With a strange chill slithering over her, Kaminari's eyes shot open.

"FUCK." she shouted at the top of her lungs, shocking anyone who knew her as a woman who never really swore. A nurse immediately hurried into the room, the woman sweating and feeling weak. "Before you say a damn thing about getting back into that bed, I can handle that amount of reiatsu better than you." she said and helped the woman into a chair. Kaminari didn't hesitate to hurry out of the hospital and shunpo'd off. Her first shunpo practically knocked the wind out of her. It didn't help that someone was sort of crushing people with his energy as he moved farther away from her.

"Darn it..." she bent over, her hands on her knees as she tried to catch her breath. Feeling that rush of reiatsu again, Kaminari hurried forward, running along the tiled roofs of the Seireitei, pushing herself further with shunpo. This would have been so much easier if she wasn't injured, weak, and half-medicated. After another shunpo, the enraged reiatsu seemed to calm down. She had Tsubine in her sights. He was talking to Kazuo, a friend and fellow Captain, but looked as if he was turning away from him. Kaminari shunpo'd forward again, appearing right in front of Tsubine, glaring at him.

"What... the... hell...?" she forced out. Kaminari leaned to the right a bit, looking passed Tsubine and Kazuo to see if he was alright. Once she realized he was, she looked back to Tsubine. "I was... h-hoping to wake up... and... you'd be ri-right there..." she talked more, forcing herself to speak through heavy breathing with a slightly pained tone, "Waking... up to your reiatsu crushing me... making it hard to breathe... was not a part of that plan." It was obvious that she was pissed. Kaminari stepped toward Tsubine, looking like she was going to hit him, but instead, fell into him and held on tight.

"You... idiot..."

Tsubine was surprised to see his return being blocked. However, this was a good kind of surprise. He blinked for a moment, and began to step forward... "What... the... hell...?" Tsubine could now hear... and see how pained she was. It made what was beginning to be a smile fall into a look of worry. Kaminari looked around Tsubine and to Kazuo, who blinked for a moment, then gave a thumbs up before slowly walking backwards towards the 2nd Division. He had messages to send out. What had just happened in the Seireitei was not a threat, just a big misunderstanding.

Tsubine didn't even notice Kazuo leaving, as he was focused on Kaminari. She was sweaty and half-dressed... and Tsubine was easily able to tell that her Reiatsu was not properly flowing. It was worrying, and he didn't want her to be out here more than she had to. She began to try to yell at him and even—wait, is that a fist? Tsubine was worried he was about to be hit. And after what he did... well, he sure as hell deserved it. Hell, he wasn't thinking clearly when he did that initially, and now thoughts were beginning to piece together... What if he had harmed her more with that burst? What if he had damaged the machinery keeping her alive? His look shifted from worry to acceptance as he readied himself for a hard hit.

But instead, the only force he felt was Kaminari falling into him. She gripped his kimono tightly, and he could feel her healthy breathing. Tsubine wrapped his arms around her slowly, not putting too much pressure on her body. He didn't know the extent of her injuries, but he wanted her to feel like she was safe. "Yes, I've been an idiot..." Tsubine's acceptance slowly turned back into a gentle smile. Not the same smile he normally gave, but one of "I am here, don't worry anymore." "But I'm your idiot."

"Now, time to get you back to the hospital bed." Tsubine let go of her, and knelt... and then picked Kaminari up. Not like a father carrying a child, but bridal style. He didn't care how embarrassed she was, she was not going to walk back to the 4th Division on her own. Tsubine used minor, smooth Shunpo to cover the distance back to the hospital. Upon getting rather close, he began to walk normally. During the time he was using Shunpo, he didn't speak a single word.

"I'm sorry." The first words he spoke to her after getting her back near the 4th Division were simple. However, they had a lot of hidden meaning behind them. And most of all, they had a lot of emotion behind them. "I'm sorry I couldn't protect you... I'm sorry I couldn't save you... I'm sorry I couldn't be there when you woke up... and I'm definitely sorry I almost hurt you again by going after Genpaku." Tsubine ignored any request to put her down, and instead carried her back to her room—laying her down in the bed and shutting the door soon after. He pulled up a chair, and sat close to her... and grabbed her hand. At that point, he was speechless. He couldn't think of any words to say. His face said it all, however. His face and those once-piercing crimson eyes were now gentle and smooth—showing relief now that she seemed okay.

"My idiot..."

Kaminari was tired. After all of that, it would be odd if she would be. There would be no complaints about him carrying her. There was no embarrassment. There was no telling, or even asking, him to put her down. This is where she wanted to be. She was finally in his arms again. Like a bride, he pulled her petite body from the ground and into his arms. She just leaned into him, laying her head on his chest and closing her eyes as they took a quick and smooth trip back to the hospital wing. As they arrived, people seemed to moved right out of Tsubine's way and allowed him to pass.

As they walked, Tsubine apologized as if everything that had happened was his fault. That was an easy way to break her heart. Kaminari opened her eyes and leaned her head back, looking weakly up at him, but still able to push up a loving smile. He laid her down back in her bed, closed the door, pulled up a chair, and took her hand in his. She wrapped her fingers around his hand and shook her head. "There was nothing in that list that you had to apologize for, excluding trying to crush half the Seireitei in your own reiatsu..." Kaminari told him, shaking her head and giggling at what happened.

"It wasn't anyone's fault... Well, anyone else's. The fault was mine." Kaminari laid her head back in the pillow and closed her eyes as she began to explain, "I did something stupid and got angry at myself for it. I went out, got drunk, and did something even more stupid and went off on my own when I realized how stupid I was being... Because of that, I got snatched up  by some Arrancar. It was my fault... and yet everyone keeps blaming themselves... They need to stop it. I can no longer tell whether they're trying to make me feel better, or just make themselves feel better."

"You did nothing wrong." Kaminari turned back to him, tightening her hand around his. It was then that her hand started shaking, but not in pain. She was scared. She couldn't turn away from him as a single tear fell from her eye. "I did though... I messed up so bad..." Kaminari brought her other arm over her eyes and just began to cry heavily into her sleeve, unable to look at him, "I told Yua about us because she kept acting like she was over you; she's not. She said some things that pissed me off and made me feel guilty, so I went out and got drunk and ended up kissing another guy..."

"And to top it all off, I never got the chance to tell Toja what I needed to tell him because I was snatched up, like a pathetic child, by a stupid Arrancar and held hostage for hours until a group of other people had to come and rescue me..." Kaminari dropped her arm back down to her side, her eyes really red from her crying, and her sleeve now wet with her tears, "I'm sorry... Tsubine, I'm so sorry... I'll understand if you never want to talk to me again..." Kaminari would not be shocked if he let go of her hand and walked out of here never to come back. In fact, that's what she expected.

Although he didn't know much of what had happened, Tsubine could tell one thing. He should have come back much sooner. He should have been there. He should have always have been there. This was making him regret leaving the Gotei 13 in the first place, which was not a good thing. But then, as if he had a caffeine-fueled revelation on a puzzle, everything slowly fell into place.

Kaminari began to cry, and Tsubine couldn't blame her. If it wouldn't be an awkward position physically for him, he would have already crawled in that bed beside her to comfort her. This was the best he could do for now. As she spoke and confessed everything to him, Tsubine fell silent. He did not have the words to speak yet—besides a possible "thank you" for reminding him that it was Toja and not Jota.

A few seconds after she finished her rant, Tsubine looked up at her. "Kaminari..." Tsubine's look was initially a slightly-saddened one. His thoughts were a mystery up until that moment. "Don't cry about things like that..." Tsubine's free hand rose up and wiped away another fledgling tear for her. And in doing so, his thoughts turned back to being a mystery.

"The only thing in there that bothers me... is the fact you did kiss another guy." Tsubine was not going to lie to her. She had been honest and confessed it, so the respect would be returned. "Although, we are not a couple yet. You still never gave me an answer." Tsubine's mind was more set on comforting her rather than setting out terms of what she had done wrong... "You do get a little clingy and kiss-y when you're drunk... Plus we can say your brain was a little jostled still from our date night."

"So you'll get a free pass on that one." This was her only no-consequence act of that nature. If she did it again, things would play out differently—and he definitely would not be smiling like he is now. "Just don't go drinking without me, okay? If there's anyone I want you to be kissing, it's me." Tsubine's smile turned playful before dropping down to being comforting again.

"And you don't have to worry about me never wanting to talk to you or anything like that. I find it hard to resist your charms." Tsubine's free hand lightly pinched her cheek to get her attention as well as to show that everything was alright. "And don't call yourself a child again. After our night together, there's no way you're close to being a child. Not that you were, but still. You're a tough woman, Kaminari. And that's just one of the many things I love about you."

The moment he said her name, Kaminari froze. She held her breath in anticipation of what was to come. She expected anger. She expected disappointment. She expected disgust. She knew what could possibily come of telling him the truth, but she would not lie. Her heart raced and pounded heavily in her chest. She mentally begged him to get it over with, to just tell her off and leave her here, but to Kaminari's surprise, nothing of what she expected ever came. His next words shocked her more than anything had ever shocked her before. "Don't cry about things like that."

Kaminari looked to Tsubine with the most stunned expression. He didn't sound angry at all. And when he continued, the only thing that bothered him was the one thing that she thought he'd walk away for. It was that event that she felt would end it all, but no. Kaminari's face softened and she just stared at him. There was so much emotion in her eyes at this point that it was hard to figure out exactly what she was feeling. It was mostly a calm surprise, confusion, wonder, and the slightest glint of relief, but most of all it was a "How are you not furious with me?" expression.

"Mm..." Kaminari glanced away from him for a moment, "I don't usually drink so often, but so much had been going on that I needed some sort of relief... I've been drinking way, way too much lately..." Kaminari turned over on her side and curled her knees up to her chest, watching him closely as he spoke to her. Her shaking hand finally seemed to calm down, at least enough to not be too obvious. "Alright, I promise that I won't go out drinking without you... ever again, if I drink at all." she told him, trying to keep up a smile, but she was actually having difficulty with it.

Kaminari listened to his claim about her charms in a playful disbelief. She glance off with a "yeah, right" look on her face, only to get her cheek lightly pinched. "Ack..." she retaliated with a quick grab of his hand, only to place a small kiss on it and hold on tight. "I can agree to that. After taking what I took, there is no way I can be called a child." Kaminari rolled her eyes a bit, remembering the size. She turned over on her back again and placed a hand on her lower stomach. She could remember that feeling so well. The look on her face said 'I can't believe I was able to do that'.

"You know..." Kaminari spoke softly and closed her eyes, "It was so dark. The only thing that gave any light was a small fire. The woman Arrancar, Lasciel, she and her lackies were brutal, more than I thought they'd be. I don't exactly know what I thought being tortured by an Arrancar would be like, but this definitely wasn't it..." Kaminari reached up toward her right shoulder and pulled down the fabric that covered her second permanent scar. "Even with all of that pain..." she continued on as she traced the scar with her index finger, "And thinking I was going to die alone down there..."

"There was one thing I could not stop thinking about..." she said, taking a deep breath and sighing it out. She wanted to just tell him, but a little hesitation wasn't a bad thing. It was a little nice being able to make him wonder. She could be a bit of a brat as well. Kaminari pulled her shirt back over her shoulder and looked back over to him, pushing up a small smile. "I never thought I'd say this, but..." she continued on, placing her hand on the side of his face. She ran her thumb gently along his skin, caressing his cheek, "You, Tsubine. I couldn't stop thinking about whether I'd see you again."

"I realized then... That I did not want to live my life without being your woman. If the offer still stands, I'm yours."

Tsubine agreed. She had been drinking too much. However, he also understood why she was drinking so much—or so he thought. He had only a mild view of the situation, but he was still able to make a good assumption of what was going through her mind as to why she drank... And Tsubine hoped he could remove a lot of the stressors from her. He hated seeing her stressed, and most of all... he hated seeing her cry.

Tsubine listened to her intently as she spoke on, first, her ability to handle that part of him and then... What happened to her... Tsubine's hand tightened around hers as she explained what they did. And then, the scar. Tsubine's brow furrowed again. He had already experienced hatred against Arrancar back nearly a century ago, so this was no surprise. However, this was now personal. Hell hath no fury like a man in love, after all.

As Kaminari began to drag out what kept her sane... what kept her alive down there mentally... Tsubine was seeing his playful side coming back to bite him as it seemed to have rubbed off on her. However, he liked it. Kaminari had a side he never thought he'd see, and Tsubine loved it. He loved that he could see a side that no one else could have brought out.

And then... "You, Tsubine. I couldn't stop thinking about whether I'd see you again." Tsubine's eyes widened, and he blinked a couple of times as those words repeated in his head. Yes, she had caught him off-guard. "I realized then... That I did not want to live my life without being your woman. If the offer still stands, I'm yours." Tsubine blinked even more before sighing... and then smiling again.

And once more, he leaned in to seal a pact with their lips. "I never would rescind that offer." He sat back down and began to rub her hand. He was glad that he had his answer. He was ecstatic that he got the answer he wanted. He wanted her, and she wanted him. "Tell me though... does this mean that you love me?" He began to tease her a bit again, as per the usual interaction between the two lovebirds. "Because I know I love you."

The fact that she had obviously caught him off guard meant a lot to Kaminari. She didn't know why, but it did. She always felt like she was predictable, especially to him. It never felt like she could surprise him with anything she did. By catching him off guard, by surprising him, or even just by confusing him at times, it meant that she was showing him something new. It meant they were learning about each other. Kaminari was not a woman that wanted to be predictable. Predictable meant ordinary, usual, normal, known, and anything that told her that she wasn't special or easily compared to other people. By being able to still surprise someone, especially Tsubine, she was more than ordinary.

Kaminari looked straight at him and fought not to advert her eyes. She kept looking at him, hoping for the answer she wanted. When he sighed, she was able to calm herself down just enough to take a breath. It was a quick one, because a moment later her inhale was stopped by Tsubine's lips pressed against hers. It only took a second for her to close her eyes and relax into his kiss. She returned it passionately. And even as he pulled away to break it, she leaned in as if desperate to hold it even half a second longer. As their lips parted, her eyes slowly opened to look straight into his. Her heart was racing again and her cheeks had a small tint of pink glowing along her cheeks.

Then those words he spoke right after confirmed it; she was his woman. She was nervous about it because she had never been with a man before, so for her first of everything to have been with one so experienced, she felt a little more outclassed than usual. With her normal inferiority complex, you'd think that this would upset her, but it didn't. If there was one thing that she was okay being inferior in, it was the amount of partners one had in the past. That thought forced her to fight a giggle. He was not the womanizer she once thought he was and because of that, she allowed him closer than any man had ever gotten. Though it was an honor for her, there was something to be said for him too.

And then that question came and she froze. His next statement came and her heart skipped a beat. Her eyes fell content, staring right into his as her mind flew in a thousand directions. Love? Did she love him? He loved her; he had just said he loved her. That was big. That was something huge for both of them, though Kaminari felt it might be a bit more for herself, but that could just be bias. She had never said those words in the manner that he wanted a reply to and could she? She had known him for so long, admired him for just as long, and wanted him for about half that time, even if for a while she had suppressed it. So, at this moment, was Kaminari able to actually say those words?

"What kind of question is that?" Kaminari puckered her lips in a pout and raised her eyebrow at him. She was obviously being playful. His playful side had definitely rubbed off on her. How did he like a taste of his own medicine? She was never able to make him think, get his heart to jump, or surprise him the way he constantly surprised her. It was her turn to make him feel awkward or a little smaller, even if their height differences were in his favor. Kaminari turned over and pushed herself up onto all fours. With a soft smile, she reached out and pulled him in close until their lips connected. She was shaky because of how weak she was, but she did her best to hold him there.

"I thought it would be obvious by now..." she said as she loosened her grip and broke the kiss. With another quick kiss against his lips, she let go of him and laid back down into the bed with her eyes closed. "I love you, Tsubine." she said and took a deep breath, opening her eyes again and smiling at him, "With all of my heart, I do."

Honestly, what Tsubine said wasn't what he planned. What he said was more of a slip of the tongue than an actual part of conversation. He didn't mean to say it then... but it felt right. If he just left it hanging on that question, it would have been more accusative, no matter how caring the tone was. But that slip of the tongue was what he wanted to say. A year ago, he would have said that no, Kaminari wasn't his type. This was mainly due to the fact that he didn't know her, but also because he was afraid he'd break her.

However, when Kaminari asked what type of question that was... Honestly, it made Tsubine feel doubt for the first time in a very, very, very long time. Did he spring it on her too quickly? Maybe. Maybe... He waited for her to continue speaking, but it ended up only being continued... by a kiss? Tsubine had been in thought for a moment, and when Kaminari's lips touched his... Well, that sudden jolt sure did snap him out of it.

That was his answer. No matter if she continued to love him after it or if they went their separate ways, he'd know that in that moment, she did love him. Tsubine made sure to move closer to make it easier on Kaminari. He didn't want her collapsing out of the bed. That would just be embarrassing for her. Probably painful too.

And even with the kiss, she decided to confirm her answer. That she did love him. What made him feel estatic inside was the fact that she said she loved him with all of her heart. That was praise he never imagined he could have. "Hey now... Don't love me with all of your heart. You need to save room for the kids we're going to have." Tsubine joked and actually let out a bit of a chuckle at the end. "I don't want them to be un-loved." It was important to point out... there was only one thing he was joking about in that.

Tsubine wanted to crawl into that bed beside her right now. Not to do-the-do in the hospital, but just to be closer to her. However, that bed was small even for Kaminari. The only way those two would fit in there was if one were atop the other. And that'd just raise more questions (among other things) than need be. "So, how long do you think you'll be in here for? We need to have a second date, after a—Oh."

Tsubine began to reach around inside of his kimono, looking puzzled until... "There it is." Tsubine pulled out a ribbon-tied black box. It was too big to be a ring box (thank god for Kaminari's sake), but it was big enough to be a necklace. "This is for you." Tsubine handed it to her. "Go on, open it." Inside was what looked to be a normal Hell Butterfly... except that it was stark white. "This will allow you to contact me in the Sugiura Realm. Normal Hell Butterflies have a hard time getting there, but this one will get there no problem. This is a prototype, and I plan on having more made."

"I will love you with all of my heart. If the time comes that a child is in our lives... if that time comes, then my heart would have grown enough to fit the love I would hold for them more... Do not think a heart is a single size; they grow, advance, and become stronger as time goes on." Kaminari spoke with a really sweet smile on her face. The fact that Tsubine had brought up having children was a big step for her. "I will say though, I've never... ever thought of having kids..." as she said that, her voice lowered almost into a whisper, as if she had just remembered something important. She did. Kaminari's conversation with Yua, the one that went horribly bad, resurfaced in her mind.

"Hm?" Kaminari was pulled from her thoughts by another question. She blinked a couple times as it registered, "Second date? Do you date in the couple phase? I thought that was just the 'getting to know you' ph-..." Kaminari stopped when she saw what he pulled out. She tilted her head to the side and gentle opened it to see what it was. She blinked in surprise. What was it? He explained it to her. "So I can send this to you at any time I want?" Kaminari waited for his answer and glanced away from him smirking mischievously, "I see. And I'm the only one who has one? Hehehe... Sounds fun. I think I'll hold onto it." Prank phone calls just got more fun. And then she remembered his question.

"I don't know when I'll be getting out of here, by the way... I am hoping I can leave soon, but I will fell guilty if I do..." Kaminari looked toward the door with a guilt-ridden expression as she tucked the gift into her kimono, "Captain Hayashi... My friend Midori, she put herself into a coma to bring me back. From what I was told, if it wasn't for her, I'd be dead... I need to figure out a way to help her, to wake her up..." Kaminari's face hardened into determination. She was going to have to figure something out. Midori was her friend and the only reason Kaminari had enough confidence to... "She's also the only reason I was able to muster up the courage to go on that date with you..."

Now Tsubine really wanted to crawl in that bed beside her. Still not to do anything, but just to be closer. She was making him crave her essence, and he just wanted to give in. But, again, that bed was way too small. He decided just then that he was going to buy a house in the Rukongai. He had the money to potentially buy the Kuchiki manor if they ever decided to sell it. But no, he wouldn't be that frivolous...

Kaminari didn't understand what Tsubine meant by a date. Well, he used the term more liberally than most. To him, a date is a night with just the person you care about. Sure, others can be around, but the focus is to spend time with that special someone. It wasn't a "dating" thing, but a word he used differently than most. So when she spoke about that, he was wanting to correct her... but then, the image of the white Hell Butterfly appeared in his mind.

Tsubine was worried about that smirk. He wanted to tell her not to abuse it... but he felt she'd know not to... or at the very least, she'd respectfully abuse it. "You can contact me just about any time you want... Although, you may not need to use it much. I'm probably going to buy a second house in the Soul Society for the time being."

Tsubine did not know that about this "Midori Hayashi" person. Kaminari didn't put the name together, but Tsubine was able to math names. And no, that doesn't make sense. Tsubine could tell that this Midori person cared a lot about Kaminari and vice-versa. "Don't wait around here if you're well. If you want to visit your friend, that's fine. But I'm sure she wouldn't want you neglecting your duties to spend time hovering over her bed... I'm sure that she's got someone like I am to you that'd do that."

"Hopefully when you're out, I'll have your second present ready... It's something that'll help you get around in the Sugiura realm." Tsubine's thumb began to rub hers. "Tell me, is there anywhere you'd like to go? On Earth, here, or in the Sugiura Realm... Maybe that can be where we go next date."

"Aw. I can't call on you at random times in the middle of the night because I want a hug?" Kaminari looked at him with the cutest puppy-dog pout that she could muster. If someone were to see her with this expression on her face, someone besides Tsubine, she'd probably die from embarrassment. With him, she could show whatever part of her she wanted: Giggity. "You're telling me... that you're going to buy an entire house within the Soul Society?" Kaminari raised an eyebrow when she realized what he had just said, "Do you have that kind of money? Am I the rich man's girlfriend?"

"You're right. I don't want to be in here anyway..." Kaminari grabbed onto the blankets and tossed them off of her. She wanted to go back to her room and rest in a bed that didn't make her feel like she was a giant. This bed was too small, something she was going to have to talk to others about upgrading. This was ridiculous! How the hell do they expect someone like Tsubine or Kenpachi to lay in one of these things? Unfortunately, Kaminari wasn't aware of the fact that the Fourth Division had beds that complimented the size and weight of the patients. Beds that were too large made it difficult to work on someone Kaminari's size. And with that, Kaminari went to hop out of bed.

"What kind of present are you talking about?" she looked playfully suspicious at him, puffing up her cheeks a bit. Kaminari's entire demeanor had lightened about a thousand times when Tsubine didn't get too bothered about the kiss with Dai. Of course, for Dai's sake, there was no way in hell she was telling Tsubine who the person she kissed was; he'd have to ask or something, and even then she'd be hesitant. She would not lie, but she'd be hesitant. "A place I want to go?" she thought for a moment and tilted her head to the side, "I want... to see a white-sand beach. I don't know why, but I do."

"Of course not. There'll be no need for you to call me, because I'll be there already." Tsubine winked at Kaminari, joking that he'd be there. Of course he couldn't actually be there... Him staying at a Captain's room like that was just rude and a waste of resources. He'd definitely have to get a house in the Soul Society. "An entire manor, knowing me." Tsubine could even poke fun at himself. "Money is no problem to me... So you're the richest man's girlfriend."

Tsubine helped Kaminari out of the bed. He didn't want her to fall... Especially considering her condition. As he brought up the present, Kaminari got suspicious and puffed out her cheeks. She'd learn not to puff them out so much because... Pinch. Tsubine's fingers lightly pulled on her cheeks, deflating them. "That'd ruin the surprise." He let go and placed his haori over Kaminari so she wouldn't get cold.

"A white sand beach, huh?" Tsubine hadn't seen something like that. Well, he had seen white beaches... but that white was snow and ice and not sand. He wasn't going to take Kaminari there. Not for a beach visit at least. "It's a deal. I'll take you to one once you're well." Tsubine patted the top of her head and smiled gently. "Hopefully I can see you in a bathing suit cuter than the one you had on last time."
